Un Petit Réveillon

Réveillon (from the French réveil, or "waking) is a tradition in French-speaking cultures of a meal or party after midnight Mass. Our little Réveillon included a traditional French-Canadian tourtière (meat pie), hot mulled apple cider, and a bûche de Noël. The Christmas log is a culinary reflection of the old Western European tradition of burning a great log at Christmas time, that would be lit on Christmas night and burn throughout the Christmas season.
"To you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:11
Joyeux Noël!
