Feast of Saint Nicholas (planning)

Thursday - December 1 (5 days until feast day)

Today (payday) I purchased necessary supplies for crafts and the rest of the St. Nick Day gifts for the children. I've also copied down the recipe I will need for that day and planned out the baking on my calendar.
Recipe card with ingredients on the front for easy shopping list making and the occasion's date in the top right corner.
Directions on the back of card.
Baking plan written out on calendar:
(Dec. 3: Ingredient check! Do you have everything you will need?)
Dec. 4: measure and prep ingredients
Dec. 5: prepare dough and chill overnight, set out supplies (cookie cutters etc.) you will be using.
Dec. 6: Ready to bake Saint Nicholas cookies with the kids!

I also hit the Dollar Tree last week and bought little stocking and gift boxes etc. for St. Nick day.
DD's Saint Nick Day gift box. Box, pony, and little stocking are from the dollar store (stockings came in 2s).

The coins are from Trader Joe's, just because that's where I was when I bought them.
Pretty little dollar store gift box.
 DS1's gift box.
 DS2's stocking
A little dollar store wooden fire truck and a couple of the smallest coins.

Friday - December 2 (4 days until feast day):
I purchased a few Lindt chocolate Santas and candy canes and printed out the pattern for the miters.
One of the St. Nicholas books arrived and I was able to get it wrapped.

Sunday - December 4 (2 days until feast day):
Everything is measured out and prepped for making cookie dough tomorrow.

 room-temping the butter

 rind of one lemon

Mommy's little (up past his bedtime) "helper" pulling mama's night gown.

dark brown sugar and sifted flour, spices, salt, and baking powder

And now the chocolate St. Nicks are all put together. I used regular red construction paper. It's supposed to be metallic card stock. Next year...

Monday - December 5 (feast day tomorrow!):
 Cookie dough chilling.
The last two books came on time. Yay!
